Alfred Hogarth (1850 ~ 1932)
6.3.7. Seventh child of Elizabeth Elford and Daniel Hogarth, Alfred Hogarth, was born August 5, 1850, in Solina, Darlington Twp., Durham Co., Ontario.
He married Marion Williamson Telford, daughter of James Telford and Marion Williamson, December 31, 1880, in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, U.S. and had three children:

Alfred Hogarth died October 7, 1932, aged 89 years and Minnie Telford Hogarth died November 10, 1931, aged 85 years in Hampton, Ontario and are interred at Advent Cemetery.

Alfred Hogarth
August 5, 1850 ~ October 7, 1932
A highly respected and well-known resident of Darlington township passed to rest on Friday, October 7, 1932, in the person of Mr. Alfred Hogarth, Hampton. Deceased was born on the old homestead one mile south of Solina village, being one of a family of fourteen children of the late Daniel Hogarth and Elizabeth Elford. He lived on this farm the greater part of his life, retiring in 1914 to the village of Hampton whre he resided until his death. One New Years Eve, 1880 he was united in marriage with Marion Williamson Telfer of Foley, East Whitby, who passed away on November 10, 1931. To them were born three children, (Lelia) Mrs. H. G. Fletcher, Whitby; James D. Hogarth, Township Clerk, Hampton; and (Helen) Mrs. H. Thompson, Scarboro Junction, who survive; also eight grandchildren and three sisters, Miss Mary Hogarth, Mrs. Richard Pascoe, Solina, and Mrs. Eva Fletcher, Kalamazoo, Mich.; and two brothers, George H. Pascoe, Regina, and Dr. Luther N. Hogarth, Detroit, Mich.
Deceased was of a quiet retiring nature and never sought public office. He was a life-long Liberal in politics. After he moved to Hampton he wasa member of the Board of Health for Darlington township for a few years.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, service being conducted by Rev. W. Rackham, pastor of Hampton circuit. Several beautiful floral tributes expressed the sympathy of relatives and kind friends. The pall-bearers were Messrs. W. T. Baker, Roy Langmaid, Charles Johns, John Kivell, Sidney Hockaday, and John Cowling. The internment took place in the Union Cemetery, Oshawa, a large number of friends attending the funeral. Marion W. Telfer Hogarth
April 21, 1855 ~ November 10, 1931
There passed to rest on Tuesday, November 10, 1931, after six months’ illness, Marion Williamson Telfer, beloved wife of Mr. Alfred Hogarth of Hampton, in her 77th year.
Deceased was a daughter of the late James and Marion Telfer being born in the township of East Whitby where her father was Postmaster at Foley for a number of years. Her parents dying early in life she made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Williamson, where she lived untl her marriage with Mr. Alfred Hogarth, Solina, in December, 1880. After her marriage they lived in Solina until eighteen years ago when they left the farm and moved to the village of Hampton. The funeral took place privately on Friday from the family residence to the Union Cemetery, Oshawa, service being conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. R. Bick. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Frank Rogers, J. N. Kivell, Roy Langmaid, W. T. Baker, Sid Hockaday and Charles Johns.
Surviving are her busband, and three children, Mrs. Lelia Fletcher, at home; Mrs. J. D. Hogarth, Hampton, and Mrs. Harold Thompson, Scarboro Junction, also one sister, Mrs. Harry Boothroyd, Detroit, and one brother, Mr. Thomas Telfer, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bowmanville Statesman, Nov. 19, 1931.
