Arthur Franklin Northcote  (1879 ~ 19??)

 

4.5.5.2. Second child of Ada L. Vanstone and Franklin Northcote, Arthur 'Franklin' Northcote, was born January 12, 1879, in Welcome, Hope Twp., Durham Co., Ontario. 

  He married (1) Gertrude Whitten, daughter of William John Whitten and Janet Hamilton Hunter, June 3, 1903, in Toronto, Ontario and had two children:

  • (4.5.5.2.1)  John Franklin  (1904 ~ 1905)

  • (4.5.5.2.2)  Alice Gertrude  (1906 ~ 1906)

 

  F. Norman Northcote died unknown, 19??, aged ?? years, and Gertrude Whitten Northcote died July 27, 1906, aged 25 years in Toronto, Ontario.

NORTHCOTE.On the 12th inst., the wife of Mr. F. Northcote, of Welcome, of twins. The mother and boys are doing well. Bowmanville Statesman, Jan. 17, 1879.

Northcote—Whitten

A house wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Whitten, 272 Jarvis Street, when their daughter, Gertrude, was united in marriage to Arthur Franklin Northcote, son of the late F. Northcote, of Bowmanville, Ont. The Rev. B. D. Thomas performed the ceremony. The bride was attired in white embroidered chiffon over white satin, with customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of roses and lily of the valley. The bride's sister, Margaret, who was gowned in pale blue over white, and carried pink roses, was bridesmaid. The groom was supported by his twin brother, Norman Northcote. Mr. and Mrs. Northcote left on the 5:20 train amid showers of rice and best wishes of their many friends. Toronto Star, June 5, 1903.
