----- MARRIAGE -----

Joness―Rogers
A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rogers, Darlington, on October 12, 1901, when their daughter, Miss Mary J., was united in marriage to Mr. W. Joness, eldest son of Mr. J. M. Joness, “Retreat Dairy Farm.” The ceremony was performed at 4 o’clock by the bride’s uncle, Rev. D. Rogers, of Fordwich, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends. The bride was attired in her traveling suit, and the bridesmaid were her sister, Miss Winnifred Rogers, and the groomsman was Mr. Harry Rice. After a choice wedding dinner had been served the happy couple drive to Oshawa station—their carriage being handsomely decorated—where they took the express for the west. Both young people are very popular, and carry with them the best wishes of a large circle of relatives and friends. Bowmanville News, Oct. 17, 1901.
